Our Packages
Welcome to Compassion Wise:
Our services for individuals are delivered in the format of “packages.” Each package consists of 3.5 hours ( 1- 90 minute session and 2- 60 minute sessions.) of Assessment, Education, Counselling, and the creation of a plan for life addressing area’s that are of specific concern or challenge to the individual. Our services are available in-person or by telephone / Skype.
Package 1: Stress, Burnout & Resilience (Stress Buster)
Focus on, learn and understand the physiological process of stress including stress/anxiety patterns, primal brain functioning, warning signs, triggers and job/home related activities. Identify specifics of what is contributing to stress, recognizing the danger signs of burnout, begin to chart individual stress cycle and understand when tools are necessary. Building on strengths to find one’s way to optimal balance. Client will learn how to tune into their authentic inner voice, and ignore the racket from outside. Make changes for life.

Package 2: Self-Care and Wellness
Understand why self-care is essential for extending your life and your happiness. Know your physical, emotional and spiritual preferences for great health, discover and explore resiliency self care techniques including mindfulness meditation, visualization and other methods that work well for the individual.

Package 3: Compassion Fatigue and Caregivers
Whats wrong? Why am I so angry and tired when I’m just caring for someone I love? Am I crazy?
Just by being a caregiver your are vulnerable to Compassion Fatigue. Learn extensively about Compassion Fatigue. What are some of the symptoms ? Who is at risk ? Create awareness of your own warning signals, mindfulness, ability to continue to express compassion and empathy without taking on others’ suffering. Learn how to recover from the effects of Compassion Fatigue and how to prevent relapses. Create resilience plan for reducing the impact of Compassion Fatigue. Learn how to continue to do your loving work without losing the best parts of yourself.

Package 4: Compassion Fatigue for Animal Care Professionals
What is compassion fatigue and how does it affect animal care professionals and staff? Did you know that veterinarians have a high rate of suicide?
Be able to rate your level of Compassion Fatigue. Learn helpful tools and techniques for coping individually with the pain, suffering, and concerns of the animals and their humans. Create awareness of your own warning signals, and know when to put specific self care tools into place. Learn how to recover from the effects of Compassion Fatigue and be aware of the signals for relapses Learn how to continue to do the work you used to love without losing the best parts of yourself.

- Individual (50 minute) Therapy Sessions may be purchased to focus on general or specific issues.
- Additional area’s of counselling expertise include but are not limited to :
- Adoption, post adoption, grief/loss and anticipatory grief, pet loss, eldercare, settlement and adjustment, circle of life transitions.
- Insurance - MSW, RSW (Licensed Masters level Social Worker) is covered by many insurance companies. Check with your company to determine the specific benefits.
- Taxes - As of September 26, 2012 Services provided by a Licensed MSW are covered under your individual medical expenses when filing yearly taxes with CRA.
- Payment - By cheque or cash at time service is delivered. May be pre- purchased in the form of a gift certificate.
